Palm oil [also marketed as vegetable oil], is a cheap way of producing a hard bar of soap with a creamy lather and is used by a  lot of  soap-makers for these reasons. Although “sustainable” palm oil is available we have made the conscious and [to our mind] environmentally responsible decision not to include it, even though this significantly increases our production costs. Instead, our soap is made using Australian extra virgin olive oil.
